RoHS Statement
As the effective date for RoHS (Restrictions of Hazardous Substances) compliance nears, Kemcor is well positioned for compliance with this European Directive 2002/95/EC. Most of the products currently manufactured by Kemcor are RoHS compliant, with the exception of some of our flame retardant TPE jacketed cables. These jacket compounds may contain Polybrominated Biphenyl Ethers (PBDE) as a flame retardant. This substance is currently under review for exclusion from RoHS. If excluded from RoHS by the European Union, all products manufactured by Kemcor will be compliant. We are currently evaluating alternative flame retardant compounds. Part of the directive states: Member States shall ensure that from 1 July 2006, new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market does not contain lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated biphenyl ethers (PBDE). The European Union has established maximum concentrations of these substances, by weight in homogenous materials, that will be tolerated. The maximum concentration values are listed below:
Lead .03%
Mercury .1%
Hexavalent Chromium .1%
Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) .1%
Polybrominated Biphenyl Ethers (PBDE) .1%
Cadmium .01%
Products in stock, which were manufactured prior to Kemcor's compliance with RoHS, will be shipped until such inventory is depleted.
Kemcor's determination of compliance is based on reliable information from our suppliers, however, this information is supplied to us without any representation of warranty regarding its accuracy or correctness. We do not perform any testing on our raw materials or end products to specifically measure content levels of these compounds.
