Circuit Identification
Color is the most common method used for circuit identification. It is available in two forms - solid color wires and wires with contrasting colored stripes. Most color codes use the ten standard colors. Where more than ten circuits are to be identified, and where the customer wishes to exclude stripes, Kemcor can supply additional solid colors. Light and dark variations of blue, green and purple , as well as tan and pink are available.
Where stripes are desired, the general practice is to use contrasting spiral or lateral stripes. Dark stripes on dark wires are not advised since they can be difficult to distinguish in dimly lit areas.
Wires identified by numbers or letters are less frequently used. Codes may be numbers or letters or any combination of the two.
