What is CE?
CE is an European Union approval, similar to UL or the NEC in the United States, which assures that the product is safe for use in the community. The CE is self certifying, which means that if the product does not meet a European product standard, it must be proved safe if challenged. References can be made to other nationally recognized testing agency, such as UL or the NEC for this proof.
