Underwriters Laboratories (UL)
Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is an independent, not-for-profit organization which operates a testing, inspection and listing service for a wide range of materials and equipment. Manufacturers obtain listing by submitting their products to UL for examination and testing against the applicable UL standard. If UL finds the product acceptable, it will include it in its product directories. Wire and cable are found in UL's Recognized Component Index (Appliance Wiring Material).
UL file Number
Every manufacturer receives an individual file number from UL for each group of products covered by a UL standard. This number serves to identify the manufacturer and may be used interchangeably with the company name where UL mandates surface printing of the product. For Kemcor, the file numbers associated with the products we manufacture are: E235444, E235445, E217075, E254962.
UL Style Numbers
UL has assigned a different style number for each "Appliance Wiring Material" (AWM) construction. Each style specifies the product's general use as determined by UL's evaluation of the product. Below is a list of Kemcor's UL listed style numbers.
